Welcome to T-Pain's Animal Crossing island

Washington Post - Technology News

Just like in real life, it's in his home's subterranean quadrant, and just like other rooms, his wife's eye for wallpaper designs makes the room pop. The dark neon green walls which appear to house sci-fi experiments give off strong Super Metroid vibes. As T-Pain explains, "She gave me these cause I call my studio'The Lab.'" In addition to the studio essentials -- keyboard, turntables, drum kit, guitar, backup server -- the room also features posters of T-Pain's Animal Crossing muses: his neighbors. "I got all my islanders there, showin' love."

Welcome to Danny Trejo's Animal Crossing island

Washington Post - Technology News

So odd as it may sound, Danny Trejo and "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" make a perfect pair. Since beginning New Horizons at the tail end of April -- his tweet declaring his island arrival blew up to the tune of over 39,000 retweets, 253,000 likes and counting -- he's warmed to the soft charms of the Animal Crossing universe. It's clear he's taken in the playful, role-playing spirit of the game as my plane makes its decent Trejo's airport, when Danny urgently cuts off a question of mine to deliver some vital info: "Please put your tray table and seat back in their upright position."

Welcome to Lauren Lapkus's Animal Crossing island

Like when I first started, I went to [fellow comedian] Zach Reino's island with Paul. And he was like, 'Oh wait, let me grab some instruments!' And he went to his house and grabbed three instruments -- I had a tambourine and Paul had a flute. And we were just standing there playing these instruments in the game -- which have no melody and are just like … sound. And it was so funny to me just picturing the three of us in homes, doing it separately and taking it seriously. I was just laughing so hard.

Welcome to Alison Wonderland's Animal Crossing island

Washington Post - Technology News

It's a breathtaking visual that brings customers back for repeat visits, she says. As an Animal Crossing newbie, Alison also is committed to making her museum world-class. It's impressively stocked considering the newness of the game. She runs through its walls with glee showing off some of her favorite bugs ("Here's my tarantula, my pride and joy. She says the only downside to her museum is her propensity for getting lost in it, information she relayed shortly before literally getting lost trying to exit during my visit.

Welcome to Xavier Woods's Animal Crossing island

Washington Post - Technology News

Somebody asked me, 'Why should I play Animal Crossing?' And I was like, 'Well it's just a fun game.' 'Well what is it about it that makes it good?' 'Honestly? All you're doing is running around collecting things, crafting things, selling things, buying things. There's not a real objective to the game other than having fun.' 'Well why would I play if there's no objective?' 'You like living life, right?' 'Yeah.' 'Well think about how life is crazy and difficult right now. Animal Crossing is literally all the most fun and best things about life without any of the negative in a simulated handheld experience. So like, why would you not play that?'

Welcome to Mark Hoppus's Animal Crossing island

Washington Post - Technology News

Emerging from the airport, Quarantine visitors are immediately greeted by two extremely on-brand musical touches courtesy of Hoppus: The island's town tune is the opening riff to the Blink-182 classic "Dammit," and the isle's flag boasts the plastic fangs logo of his side project, Simple Creatures. Musical note aside, the first signature of Quarantine is the lush pasture of flowers that leads tourists from the airport dock to House Hoppus.
